Thank you for visiting First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven On-Line.
If you happen by the church building, you will notice our "Christ window"
facing Highway 17, a major route through Winter Haven. The out-stretched hands
of Christ, and the inscription below the window "Come unto me ..." have
served as our church's invitation to membership and ministry for the last 75
years.
We hope that this invitation is still being extended through our members,
staff, and programs. Enjoy learning more about us on-line. And if you are
ever close enough to see our window, please stop in and get to know us.
In Christ,
Steve Negley
Pastor

Service for Wholeness
September 23, 6:30 p.m.
On Sunday, September 23, at 6:30 p.m., we will have a Service for Wholeness in the
chapel. This service is held twice a year, once in the spring and then again in late
summer or early fall. This service includes hymns, prayers, scripture readings and a
meditation as we will celebrate Holy Communion. The sacrament will be administered
by the mode of intinction, dipping a piece of bread into the chalice, before partaking.
All are welcome to attend. Those seeking healing and wholeness of body, spirit or
relationships are especially invited to attend for personal prayers and anointing with oil
by the pastors, both of which are done at the individual’s request.

Honduras Mission in Photos
Members of First Presbyterian Church recently returned from their mission trip to Honduras. They brought back with them hundreds of photographs of
their experiences, which you can now view in the Photo Album section of our web site.
The following is a brief excerpt from the July 15th Tower Chimes newsletter describing part of the trip. You can read more about the trip in the
most recent issues of The Tower Chimes.
"On Monday, we loaded our six truck convoy and headed north to our first worksite, Agalteca. Over the next four days, our
medical professionals John Eycleshimer, Lia Gray, and Gale Waters, and our support team, worked alongside Honduran
physician Dr. Moreno offering medical clinics at the churches in
Agalteca, Guiamaca, Guatemalita, and Puenta Jalan. We treated a total
of 900 patients in our clinics! A smaller contingent of our group
traveled back each day to work alongside the pastor and two members
of the church in Agalteca on construction of their manse.
On Friday, we broke camp and journeyed back to Tegucigalpa where
we visited the hospital and university with two of our Honduran hosts."
