Psalm 139:1-6

The Inescapable God

To the leader. Of David. A Psalm.

 O Lord, you have searched me and known me.
You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
you discern my thoughts from far away.
You search out my path and my lying down,
and are acquainted with all my ways.
Even before a word is on my tongue,
O Lord, you know it completely.
You hem me in, behind and before,
and lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is so high that I cannot attain it.

As we wrap up enjoying the images and Bible stories that may cause children to wonder, it might be good to join the Psalmist in pondering God. Think about how wonderful it is that God knows you and me intimately. God knows my thoughts, my words, my path in life. God made me, and God loves me.

Prayer

Thank You, wonderful Creator, for giving me life, and blessings, and the time I have to enjoy You and the world around. And thank You for the mind with I can wonder and praise. Amen.
