Deuteronomy 6:1-4

6 Now this is the commandment—the statutes and the ordinances—that the Lord your God charged me to teach you to observe in the land that you are about to cross into and occupy, so that you and your children and your children’s children may fear the Lord your God all the days of your life, and keep all his decrees and his commandments that I am commanding you, so that your days may be long. Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe them diligently, so that it may go well with you, and so that you may multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, as the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has promised you. ()What would a land of promise look like to you?

What would the Promised Land be for a wandering band of people?

God promised God’s children that they would at some point be a great nation. God promised the people that they would have a land. God promised the people that they would dwell safely as God’s children. And as they followed God’s instructions, and lived with hope as God’s people, that land of promise came with a delicious description —- it would be a land flowing with milk and honey.

Do we trust that God will provide the promises in life for us? Taste and see …..

Prayer

God, You promise us peace, salvation, love, and grace. Let us revel in Your everyday blessings as an appetizer to the full feast that You have in store for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
