Acts One

When one opens his/her Bible to Acts, I used to think it was only because the Book of Acts must be an historical account of the first and early church of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ. Yet it seems that some of the authors of this full and understanding story of The Church, shared their faith almost before it was considered a church. It will do us well to understand that a church is a gathering of believers in Christ our Lord and Savior. It will do us well to always remember that the church, really any church, lives and serves by the fullness of a living remembrance.

Most, if not all, Biblical scholars place the time of Acts sometime between 70 and 100 A.D. Though we may be able to arrive at a time and date for its composition no one has yet been able to place a name of the author. Regardless of whom it was that wrote this alive book of Christian history, it best be read with the thought in mind that its story continues to even our day.

What is the Book of Acts? It is the story of faith sharing the faith of our Lord Jesus the Christ as the group of followers became organized into the birth of our Christian Church! I would ask that as we read and live through this perhaps the earliest New Testament accounts of the twelve and Paul lived their lives rooted in the ministry of Christ Himself. Though Jesus, the man, cannot be observed living physically in the pages of Acts. Through the power of the Spirit, the Lord Jesus, continues to work and serve God’s Kingdom here on hearth. I pray that we can all connect even to a greater extend to the Will of God our Father as we live through this wonderfully alive book of faith.

Prayer

Thank You, our Creator God for touching so many lives with Your heavenly story of life and service. We pray that You will open our minds, hearts and spirits to collect each one us into Your great Love and Truth. In Christ we pray.
