When Silas and Timothy had come from Macedonia, Paull was compelled by the Spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ……. “Don’t be afraid! Speak out! Don’t be silent! For I am with you” Acts 18:5, 9
Paul was prompted by the Spirit to speak out and not be afraid of the consequences. We have the same power in us to speak out and not be afraid. It isn’t because we are brave people, it is because of the Holy Spirit that lives in us. May we call on the name of Jesus to be bold and speak when the Spirit tells us and do it with the same boldness that Paul had. What is the Holy Spirit telling you today? Are you listening?
Gracious and Loving God, I pray that I listen when You speak to my heart. Forgive me of the times that I have ignored or just plain told You no. Thank You for dying for my sins so that in those times I fail to be obedient I can come to You at the foot of the cross and repent and be forgiven. Thank You for Your unending love and for Your Word that guides my life. In Jesus Name, Amen.
