Deuteronomy 15:10-11

Give liberally and be ungrudging when you do so, for on this account the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake. 11Since there will never cease to be some in need on the earth, I therefore command you, “Open your hand to the poor and needy neighbor in your land.”

As our Christian Education Committee planned Vacation Bible School for 2024, an important component we wished to include was a mission support. And as our Pastors and Session representatives to Presbytery had also just returned from an in-person meeting at Beth-El Farmwork Ministry, we had an updated list of partnership opportunities. One such partnership that connected well with our theme of summer camp adventure with God was collecting backpacks for the children of Beth-El.

This challenge of collecting backpacks for Beth-El will also be extended to our congregation to support as well! Such an easy way to give liberally and see our blessing multiply as we celebrate Vacation Bible School here at First Pres.

Prayer

Gracious God, we thank you for all those who hear the call to be part of service to your church through Vacation Bible School, the generosity of our children and their families in collecting backpacks. And so, we offer prayers for the children of Beth-El who will receive them and ask your blessing upon them as well. In Christ name, we pray. Amen.
