The post-resurrection Jesus is often depicted as a living/breathing/resurrected person, who still bore the wounds of crucifixion in His hands and side. (We see that starkly in John’s gospel, chapter 20, when Thomas is invited to touch and believe.)
In this Easter/Ascension hymn, Crown Him with Many Crowns, the hailed Redeemer is also the One who bore the marks and died for us.
Prayer
We worship You as Lamb, Sacrifice, Redeemer, and King. Lord, let us now follow you as all that we need to live. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.
