II Timothy 1:3-5
3 I am grateful to God—whom I worship with a clear conscience, as my ancestors did—when I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. 4 Recalling your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy. 5 I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you.
Because we spend so much of our life around them, we don’t always think of time with family as holy encounters. But faith is often formed in the everyday experiences with those in our own households.
Prayer
Thank You, God, for the special reunions and the ordinary events where we sense the love and lessons for living that are provided by members of our own families. Let their memories and memorable moments leave a lasting impression on how we view You and our place in Your family. We ask this in the name of Your Son, our holy brother in faith, Jesus. Amen.
