Becky Del Prato’s first nativity set is one she bought after gaining fulltime employment and establishing her own home Becky purchased once she joined the work force in 1970. Growing up she had always had one at home and it was important for her to have one in her new home. She purchased this one in Philadelphia. The stable is made of wood and the figures are ceramic/resin and painted in beautiful rich colors. It was made in Italy.

This nativity set is always placed on the buffet and she serves as the set designer. Becky states that the nativity set is the first thing she puts up to decorate for Christmas and the last decoration to come down and be stored for the next year’s Christmas.

Scripture: I Corinthians 13:11

Thought for the Day: After having joined the work force, become an adult and established a “home of your own,” was there something special you bought to make that place your home?

Prayer: Dear God, we want to preserve those childhood memories of Christmas and once we leave the family and home of our origin, we are anxious to make that first apartment we rented or house we leased or bought to be “ours.” If indeed as they say, “Christmas is for children,” then let us never be so grown up as to lose the fascination of the remarkable story of Jesus’ birth. In His name, we pray. Amen.
