†Jeannette Perry purchased this nativity set at a shop in New Orleans twenty-five to thirty years ago. The thirteen figures are made of resin and glitter. She staged the scene the same way each year and she displayed the nativity set only during the Christmas season. She usually placed the set near the Christmas tree on a table with straw scattered around. More recently Jen displayed the nativity set on a dining room server.

Jen joined the Church Triumphant on April 25, 2015 at the age of 96.

Scripture: Philippians 2:9-11

Thought for the Day: Carl Sandburg said “A baby is God’s opinion that the world should go on.” We celebrate these births. Each year we also lose loved ones and friends, who join the Church Triumphant. We grieve those losses. So we are reminded of the saints above and the saints on earth. We also are reminded that one day all knees will bow and all tongues confess that Jesus is Lord.

Prayer: O Lord, we rejoice with families as they welcome their children into the world. We mourn with those who have lost loved ones and for whom the holidays are difficult. We thank You for the promise that one day all believers will be united and there in Your kingdom every knee will bow and every tongue confess that You are Lord to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
