27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27

We have talked about it before but I will remind you again, I am a bit of a worrier and a control freak. I believe I have disclosed that a few times in my devotionals with you all. It would probably benefit me greatly if I took this Bible verse and taped it on my bathroom mirror to remind myself on a daily basis. The Holy Spirit gives us peace, the peace we need. Not just any type of peace, but true peace that doesn’t change or depend on your circumstances. It’s a peace that passes all understanding and I must admit, I don’t totally understand, nor do I have that true peace. But it’s readily available to me all I have to do is allow the peace of God to move into every area of my life and relinquish – wait for it – control. Hmmm. There it is friends, I need to surrender my worry, my control, my constant fretting and trying to figure out the next move, and let God handle it. There’s a saying that I love, but I don’t always follow it – Let Go and Let God.

Friends, I have a long way to go. God is still working on me every single day and I am glad He is. Thankfully He doesn’t give up on us and He’s constantly refining us. True peace from our Heavenly Father is ours for the taking. We are His children and He gives us this amazing gift. All we have to do is surrender our will for His. Are you willing?

Prayer

God of Everlasting Peace, thank You for the Peace that only You can provide. We do not need to fear tomorrow or the day after that. You are already there and You already have all of our ways planned for us. Give us the trust and surrender we need in order to have the perfect peace that comes from You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
