Mark 10:42-44

So, Jesus called them and said to them, “You know that among the gentiles those whom they recognize as their rulers lord it over them, and their great ones are tyrants over them. But it is not so among you; instead, whoever wishes to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wishes to be first among you must be slave of all.

Prayer

Holy God, thank You for showing me how to be Your follower and Your disciple. In the life of Jesus Christ, I see what it means to be a servant. I am called to care for others and love my neighbor; sometimes that may even mean giving more of myself and my resources than I am comfortable with. Guide me to recognize You as the source of all that I have and all that is good in this world. Thank You for all that You have blessed me with today. Amen.
