Let the Creator of Heaven and Earth Fight for You

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Genesis 1:1

The very first verse in the Bible says all that we need to know yet God saw fit to give us an entire book about His love for us. If we would remember this verse every time life got overwhelming or situations felt insurmountable we would be reminded that there is nothing too big for God the handle.

I can’t even wrap my brain around how perfectly our bodies were made to function let along the entire universe, but God created it all just by uttering a word. His word. When I stop and allow myself to focus on God rather than my circumstance things aren’t so bad. “Be still and know that I am God “ Psalm 46:10 comes to mind. Be still and remember that God created the heavens and the earth with a word. He can and will lift us out of the darkness of our situation and bring goodness in all things.

We serve a God that created all things, ALL things. Why do I doubt that he will carry me through the dark times? Why do I allow anxiety and uncertainly to plague my heart at times? When I remember that this life is a small peace of eternity in His presence I suddenly feel the peace that was meant for me in His presence. That is the goodness that our God provides when we call on His name.

Sin entered this world through Adam and Eve, but God is here to see us through whatever difficulties come our way. Remember during those difficult times that God created the heavens and the earth. Rest on those first words that God gave us and find the peace that is meant for you.

Prayer

Gracious and Loving God, I pray that as I remember scripture to navigate through this life that I remember the very first verse You gave us. You are the Creator, and Perfecter of all things. I may not understand everything that happens or why they happen, but I don’t have to because You do and that is enough for me. In Jesus name, Amen.
