Sometimes I try out sermon ideas on the group of men that assemble Tuesdays at noon at our church. I floated the idea of life verses to them one week, and they gave me all that I could handle for the following Sunday’s sermon.
One of these children of God in the Tuesday group claimed Jeremiah 29:11 as a life verse.
11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.
I often see that verse quoted or noted at the time of high school or college graduations. It’s a comforting thought for those who are getting ready to embark on a new life journey. And it’s something that even those of us who are well into our life adventure might need to remember.
God has a plan for us and our world. Let’s learn and live it.
God, help me to dig into your Word and to pause and listen for your to speak to me today, so that my life will reflect your will. Amen.
