Daily Devotion Focusing on the Missions Supported by First Pres

I John 4:21

The commandment we have from Jesus is this:

those who love God must love their brothers and sisters[a] also.

Project Love is a faith-based multi-faceted resource center, born from the calling from God to serve the Eloise community. It was originally started over 30 years ago by Ann Thayer, and has been carried on all these years through “Florida First Start”, Eugenia Barton and St. John’s United Methodist Church. In 2012, God’s vision called for an expansion of this ministry and program. In, 2013 Project Love opened as a ministry to God and service to the Eloise community. It is now located in the same building as Angels Care Center of Eloise, which is a free, faith based medical clinic. Project Love and Angels Care Center operate as separate, but cooperating sister ministries.

Our church collects toiletry items for care bags, and the Deacons give regular financial contributions as a part of their local mission support.

Prayer

Dear God, when we see clusters of people who are struggling with poverty, help us to love and care. As we might often find ourselves driving through the Eloise community, let our hearts stop and help those less fortunate through Project Love. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
