If you have found honey, eat only enough for you,
or else, having too much, you will vomit it.
Proverbs 25:16

Moderation seems to be a recurring theme in the scriptures. (Maybe because we need to be reminded often of the concept.) I had to take note at how this Proverb may be directed at my life.

If I find honey (or honeybuns, Twinkies, or the like) eat only enough for me. I might want to look at the “serving size” on the package. “All you can eat” really means “all you should eat.” Or else, having too much, you will vomit it out.

Here’s another day to practice moderation in my diet. Doing so may pave the way for many more days.

Dear God, thank you for supplying my needs. Help me to be content with what I need, and not fall prey to my wants. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
