Revelation 19:6

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:

“Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.

When I think back over the years, I am truly grateful for the number of times I have been able to sit in the audience or at least surrounding area at Epcot to watch the Candlelight Processional. I am sure I have experienced it over 15 times, maybe more in my entire life. I just LOVE it!

A few years ago, David Brinson told me on a Wednesday that they had one spot open to go with our choir to sing in the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. I didn’t have to think twice, I said yes immediately but then quickly asked for a CD as well. I knew a lot of the songs, but even after practicing for just a few days – Wednesday through Monday, I still had to “mouth” some of the words.

The experience was amazing! It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience and a big check mark on my bucket list. I love the fact that they read the Christmas story during the performance and that each song goes along with the scripture. Then at the end of the show, they sing the Hallelujah Chorus. Oh talk about the hair standing up on the back of your neck. It is incredible. If you have never experienced this show, please try to go one year. They bring in various entertainers to read the Christmas story and one year I was there, Jim Caviezel was the narrator. He did a fabulous job, but during this show, he read One Solitary Life poem. Well he broke down during the reading of this because it was shortly after he had portrayed Christ in The Passion of the Christ. Talk about a moving experience.

The year Jonathan was born, he was barely over a month old, my mom and I braved the uncharted territory and took him to see the processional. Last year, my mom, dad, and I stood just outside the amphitheatre with Jonathan in a stroller to see the show. This year, we took Jonathan and Timothy to experience the sights and sounds of the Candlelight Processional.

May you find an event or experience this Christmas season which allows you the opportunity to “shout for joy,” because Christ our Savior is born.

Prayer

Lord God Almighty, You reign! Thank you for the gift of music and that we can celebrate the Christmas season with joyous hymns of praise. Thank you for opportunities to share Your Word throughout our everyday lives. Help us to share your love everywhere we go. Amen.
