What do you think about when you see the word Peace? I think of peace at the end of a confrontation, whether it be with a family member, or with another person who sees things differently than I do.

Peace also comes to mind at the end of a day as I lay myself down to sleep. I don’t know how anybody can sleep if they don’t have a sense of peace. Is there anyone I wasn’t able to have a good word with? Is there something I wanted to do but ran out of time and was not able to finish the race? How can I find restful peace unless I know I have done my best for today and there is always another tomorrow.

In my mind, real peace come to me upon entering my church to worship God, the source of life and my Creator. It’s what enters my mind as I sit in the comfort of God’s house to sit and wonder. With the Peace of God with me I think just what does life actually mean and am I fulfilling all that I am called to do. I relish my quiet time in God’s House and being renewed with His Peace.

Prayer

O God, the very source of peace which passes all understanding, make my life be dedicated to passing your peace everywhere I go. In Your Son’s Name. Amen.
