Preparing to Celebrate the Birth of Our Savior: Marshmallow

This is my newest nativity set (and it is also the sweetest). The little figurines of Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus are marshmallows, and the stable is chocolate bars and graham crackers. It makes me smile because it ties together the story that I love with wonderful memories of church and youth activities around the campfire. That may have also moved Emily Snyder, Becca Alexander, and Lindsey Ivey to pick this up in the mountains as a gift for me. How sweet!

Isaiah 11:6-9

6 The wolf shall live with the lamb,
the leopard shall lie down with the kid,
the calf and the lion and the fatling together,
and a little child shall lead them.
7 The cow and the bear shall graze,
their young shall lie down together;
and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 The nursing child shall play over the hole of the asp,
and the weaned child shall put its hand on the adder’s den.
9 They will not hurt or destroy
on all my holy mountain;
for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD
as the waters cover the sea.

Prayer

As we long to be led in the peaceful kingdom by the holy Child, touch our hearts with the sweet, simple message of how Your love comes to us at all ages. Help us to hear the Christmas message with a smile on our faces this year. Amen.
