Preparing to Celebrate the Birth of Our Savior: White Ceramic

This nativity set was one of my first purchases as I (Rev. Sarah) got settled in my first call at First Presbyterian Church of Frankfort, KY. Preparing for my first Christmas and developing my own traditions as a Pastor, having a nativity set in my own home was important. So this nativity brings the simplicity of Christmas home to me and it’s been a part of my holiday traditions to set this nativity in a central location no matter where I am calling home.

Psalm 62:1-8

For God alone my soul waits in silence;
from him comes my salvation.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall never be shaken.

How long will you assail a person,
will you batter your victim, all of you,
as you would a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
Their only plan is to bring down a person of prominence.
They take pleasure in falsehood;
they bless with their mouths,
but inwardly they curse.
Selah

For God alone my soul waits in silence,
for my hope is from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my deliverance and my honour;
my mighty rock, my refuge is in God.

Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your heart before him;
God is a refuge for us.

Prayer

Holy God, You sent messengers with good news to prepare the way of Your glorious realm. Anoint us with Your Holy Spirit in our silence as we know You alone are our rock and only salvation. In Christ Jesus, Amen.
