Rejoice

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

What a beautiful letter Paul wrote! Throughout this chapter Paul continues to encourage and support the first followers of Christ using words that are so relevant today in our daily lives. I think most people tend to stress themselves out in our busy world today. We want to have it all, do it all, and know it all! What a lovely reminder it is when he tells us to turn to God in prayer and thanksgiving. What a lovely reminder it is to live a life that models and reflects the “gentleness” of Christ. When we pause or even make ourselves stop to let the peace of God enter our minds and beings, maybe it will give us the courage to make the choices we do have to live our lives as a reflection of our beliefs.

Prayer

Dear Lord, help us to take the time to feel the healing peace of God that will guard our hearts and minds and lead us to walk in the steps of Jesus Christ. Amen.
