You make beautiful things out of us.” And it dawns on you I am singing of beauty from the Creator, of a God who brings life out of nothing, dust, and old ground. I love the equating of God’s creative power to be more than the creation all around us but also, possible through me. It is happening all around me with the blooming of new flowers and the rising of a shimmering moon each night. It’s happening each moment, and through songs such as Gungor’s Beautiful Things, I take a few minutes and acknowledge, yes, Lord, me too. I join this chorus with confidence and hope, indeed, God is making me new.

Creator God, from such modest and unstable sources like dust you’ve created such beauty in our world, you’ve created beauty within us as well. Thank you.
