“We thank you, O God! We give thanks because you are near. People everywhere tell of your wonderful deeds. ……. But as for me, I will always proclaim what God has done; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.” Psalm 75:1; 9
I was sharing a sweet God story with my sister the other day about how God has been so faithful in a particular situation of mine. She told me that I should keep a journal of all the times God has been so faithful. God is always faithful of course, but to be able to go back and remember all the times is such a sweet reminder of His love. We tend to linger on the difficult moments when things seem overwhelming and we have no idea how they will work out. When we focus on God’s faithfulness and goodness we are reminded that He is in control and that we are so very blessed by that even in the valley. When we remember God’s faithfulness we can sing his praises and tell of all of his wonderful deeds. We have a duty in the body of Christ to share this good news. We must share how he has been a faithful and good father in all circumstances. How will others know if we don’t tell them? It is all in perspective. We can choose to sit in the muck and the mire or we can choose to see God’s goodness in all things.
I took my daughter to see the new movie Trolls the other day and while it has no direct correlation to the Christian life it reminded me that we get to choose joy and to find the goodness in all things. We can also choose to let life kick us in the behind and lose all hope. Our hope is in the Lord. When we live this truth we begin to see God in and through all things. He is there we just have to acknowledge that He is. Sometimes it take me a while to see Him, but he is always there waiting. He never leaves us and He is always faithful and loving.
Prayer
Gracious God, I pray that today I choose You so that I can share all that You have done. I choose to see You in all things and believe the truth that You work goodness in all things for Your glory. In Jesus Name, Amen.
