Luke 13:18-19
18He said therefore, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what should I compare it? 19It is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in the garden; it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches.”
The beauty of St. Lucia overtakes you as look from above at the Howelton Estate’s terrace over two hundred meters above the sea. You can see the lush vegetation, variety of tropical flowers and plants and even still, smell the sea at one of the oldest homes in St. Lucia. And just as that much needed breeze picks up, you are invited to see some of the arts and crafts of local people. On some days, you may enjoy their creativity shine as they demonstrate how batik or chocolate is made. For myself, I enjoyed seeing the creative process of a local artist envisioning hand-painted bags, taking a variety of textures and colors into something truly original. Here, I am grateful for that creative spark as I am sure God delights in how these seeds are nurtured, watered, and grow.
Prayer
Ever nurturing and source of creation, Creator God, we give thanks for those seeds of creativity and your kingdom that grow beyond our own imagining and provide joy to us all. Amen
