Hebrews 2:9-10

but we do see Jesus, who for a little while was made lower[b] than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God[c] he might taste death for everyone.

10 It was fitting that God,[d] for whom and through whom all things exist, in bringing many children to glory, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Where many of our crosses are shiny bronze or gold, the cross made from three nails that is used in the Resurrection Eggs for our Easter children’s story is a stark reminder of the fact that Jesus was nailed to the cross.

God, as I enjoy the blessings of salvation this and every day, make me mindful of the sacrifice of Jesus for my soul. Thank You for that great love. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
