Genesis Chapter 1
31 And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
The first chapter of the Bible tells us how everything came to be …… “God said, and it was.” It is easy to move panel to panel and see air and sun and light and dark and land and sea and animals and plants and humans, made in God’s image.
And then, at the end of the six-day creation narrative we get a line to ponder:
“and God saw all that God had made – and it was very good.”
That’s an interesting way to look at the created order. That’s a good way to look at nature and people. It’s a good starting point to picture it all, by design, being very good.
Dear God, before I start picking things apart, let me look for the good in each person and place. And then let me see how I should feel and be. In Your holy name I pray. Amen.
