If you wanted to go into a new business, what exactly would you have to do? First, you would have to find out just what it would take to succeed. Then you would have to decide if you really wanted to do all that is required of you. In the process, you will probably find out that as it is in all things, there are laws that you are required to know and to follow.
I have no way of knowing if you have found out what I have just shared, but the world we live in is pretty much run by a lot of control freaks. Now if you know what the law requires you are able to be somewhat in control. Our Lord Jesus found out often that there were many who tried to belittle him by bringing up a law that they accused him of breaking.
Let us learn from Christ just how he was able to deal with those who accused him of not obeying the law that they lived, or at least, tried to get others to live by. Jesus told those who were following him that though he was being accused of the scribes and Pharisees, have no fear. The scribes and Pharisees were really only interested in their own well-being, they tried to bend God’s Law to fit them and not trying to fit themselves into obeying God’s Law.
This is a great lesson for us to remember. To be obedient to the ways of God is to love, honor and accept all who try to put you down by lifting themselves over you. The best way any of us can follow God is to love our neighbor as ourselves, for that is the way our heavenly Father has been with. Go and do like-wise, this what Christ himself is telling us in this divine lesson.
O Lord, life can be very complicated as we listen to those around us who wish to lord it over us. We give thanks that through Jesus we have been blest with a better way, a way that leads into your Holy Presence. In His Name we pray. Amen.
