Matthew 13:31-32

31 He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field; 32 it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”

Jesus loved to tell stories. And he told a lot of stories about the kingdom of heaven (which he also called the Kingdom of God.) This parable was about a tiny seed that can grow into a big shrub.

Are there little things that we do in our faith (a moment of prayer, some time reading scripture, a small donation or act of kindness) that help to grow our relationship with God and others?

The smallest of seeds can become a tree….

Prayer

Help me plant some seeds of faith today. Let me and others find a safe spot in the branches that are produced as I try to live out the stories of Jesus in my life. Amen.
