Throughout the Bible, we read of the importance of God’s presence to the people of God. We hear that God is with them in times of struggle and ease, of disobedience and faithfulness, and of great sorrow and joy. Scripture reminds us that God is with us in all moments of life as well. Sometimes, we get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our lives and get lost in the inflated urgency of our daily problems. Sometimes, we need to stop and pay attention. We need to look around us and notice that we are not alone. God is present with us and that offers us a great sense of comfort to know that our Creator loves us and is active in our world.
In the weeks ahead, the pastoral staff will be taking photos from their daily lives and capturing moments when they see, hear, or felt the presence of God. We invite you to journey with us, to pause, and to make note of the times in your own life when you notice that you are in the presence of God.
Psalm 92:1-4
It is good to give thanks to the Lord,
to sing praises to your name, O Most High;
to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
and your faithfulness by night,
to the music of the lute and the harp,
to the melody of the lyre.
For you, O Lord, have made me glad by your work;
at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
Prayer
God of the Universe, we praise You with our hearts, hands, and voices. We thank You for the gift of music, which enables us to speak when our words fall short. Sometimes it is easier to see You in the world around us. Strengthen us to listen for You as well in the beauty of song, voice, guitar, piano, and even cymbal. We thank You for Your goodness, mercy, and love. Amen.
