I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] Philippians 4:13

Philippians 4:13 is my favorite Bible verse of all times! I focus on this verse at least once a day and should focus on it several times a day. I love the verse from the Amplified Bible. God may call us to do some rather hard things.  In this life we may face sickness, death, heartache, job loss, financial crisis, and the list of negativity goes on and on. But one thing remains; God gives us the strength through Him to get through these difficult times. It’s not based on our own strength friends – we are self-sufficient only through Christ’s sufficiency. It’s all because of Him.

Oftentimes before something “big” comes up, when I see something on the horizon that I’m not looking forward to, that I’m nervous about, or unsure of what the outcome may be, I will start to repeat this verse over and over to myself, reminding myself that I can face this because of Him.

Matthew West, a Contemporary Christian singer wrote this song:

Because of God’s amazing love, only through Him, He will make us strong enough to face the heartaches and trials of life. They may not be easy, it may take us waking up every day and repeating this verse over and over, but God gives us the strength to get through it. Thank you Jesus!

Prayer

God of Everything, You meet us just where we are and cover us with Your love and grace. Thank you Jesus. Grant us the courage and strength to meet the trails and obstacles that come our way. Help us not to focus on our own strength but on the strength only You can provide. Thank you Jesus. Amen.
