Acts 8:35
Then Philip began to speak, and starting with this scripture he proclaimed to him the good news about Jesus.
If you ever wonder how the Bible can come alive so that the children at Vacation Bible School not only know the Bible story but are able to live it, then you need to see Dr. Steve in action as the Bible Storyteller. This year, children saw with Jacob the angels on a ladder and God’s promise to always be with him. They journeyed with Naomi and Ruth to a new land and on a search to find lost Jesus (he was in the Chapel teaching others about God.). And, most perilously, they became disciples in a boat amid a storm, truly trusting Jesus to save them. Then wrapped up the week with a joy party with the Ethiopian Eunuch Philip baptized in the book of Acts. Each Biblical story shared in a way that children enjoyed but also, crucially, remembered. Each Biblical story reminding them of the Camp Callout, “Whenever, I’m afraid, I put my trust in you.” Psalm 56:3
Prayer
When we breathe in, we feel your love, Gracious Lord. When we breath out, we share such love with those who need your peace, your joy and your grace. In our breathing, we remember the sustaining presence of your Holy Spirit is a close as that air. Now and always, Amen.
