II Timothy 1:3-5

³I am grateful to God—whom I worship with a clear conscience, as my ancestors did—when I remember you constantly in my prayers night and day. ⁴Recalling your tears, I long to see you so that I may be filled with joy. ⁵I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that lived first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, lives in you.

If you ever wanted to see the hands and feet of Christ at work and truly see faith in action, then just visiting a night of VBS is exactly where you need to be. Because over 40 adults and youth made Vacation Bible School possible for children of our church and community to know God’s love and experience Christ. From the caring hands that prepared the meals every night, to music and craft leaders, and science, recreation and Bible story leaders who made real the Bible stories, the daily Camp lessons and such care for every little feet that walked through our buildings. And the radiant Love from our camp counselors who walked with those feet, talked with those campers and held the hands of each kid every night. Christ was present here at First Pres because Christ Jesus lives in each volunteer who made Vacation Bible School an outstanding ministry.

Prayer

Gracious Lord, because you first loved us, we are able to radiate that love to others. Thank you for the imagination, intelligence and care our Vacation Bible School volunteers were able to gift to children who were a part of that ministry. Continue to guide them and support them in their discipleship, now and always. Amen.
