Be mindful of what you watch, and be careful what you do with what you watch.

Do not let your heart envy sinners,
but always continue in the fear of the Lord.
Surely there is a future,
and your hope will not be cut off.

Proverbs 23:17-18

I’m not suggesting that all the people that we watch in this world are sinners. (But, then again, all of us are sinners.) But we should be careful how we easily seem to turn from looking at what other people have and are, to envying them. Then our hearts get set on having what they have, and we become diverted from following where God alone is leading us.

It’s probably best to read a little more scripture and watch a little less TV. And it probably wouldn’t hurt to ration our social media intake, and give a little more attention to God’s handiwork.

Prayer

Dear God, guide my eyes to the things that will cause me to praise You for the blessings I have been given today. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
