With a Little Help I Can Be Faithful

Whoever is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much….
Luke 16:10a

When I was growing up I had a piggy bank that was made of light blue hard plastic. For years when I was given money, especially silver dollars, I was encouraged to deposit them in my piggy bank. It became full and quite heavy. At the time it seemed like a good move to put that money in a savings account. I did and it was one of the first ways that I learned about saving. I regret that I turned in those silver dollars because I think that they would have been more valuable if I had them today than the face value I got years ago.

I wish I could say that I was more disciplined about saving. The best way for me to save is never to see the money in the first place. I have two savings programs where the money is deposited without any assistance from me. It is whisked away to those accounts before I could do anything else with it. So I have some help in being faithful with a little and so maybe I am faithful in much.

What about you? Is it easy for you to save money? Are you like me, needing a little help so that you can be faithful in saving? May God bless us so that we may be faithful in little and can graduate to being faithful also in much.

Prayer

Good Lord, help us to be faithful in little so that we can also be faithful in much. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
