Finally, Paul reaches Rome! He visits with the local Jewish leaders to explain why he is there and people start to come in larger and larger numbers to listen.

He witnessed to them from morning till evening, explaining about the kingdom of God, and from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets he tried to persuade them about Jesus. (Acts 28:23) Some believed and some didn’t. For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ – with all boldness and without hindrance! Acts 28:30-31

And there you have it – “with all boldness and without hindrance!” This makes me think of “What would you do?” the TV show on ABC that is hosted by John Quinones. The show stages different scenarios that involve harassment, bullying, illegal activity, etc., and the different reactions of people who witness the offending activity. Some people just ignore what is going on and don’t get involved. Others speak up and try to make a positive change. As I watch some of the shows, I wonder and pray that I am the one that tackles the problem, and not the one that hides. It is in daily life where speaking out with boldness and without hindrance will make a difference in someone’s life.

Dear Lord, help us to act and speak boldly in Your name as we live our lives. Help us to be part of the solution and not part of the problem. Amen.
