Please join us April 8 for this special single worship service at 10:00 a.m.
The theme for this year is: Recalling Silent Cal and Other Witty Presidents. The “sermon for the day” will be related to: Psalm 126:2-3, “Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then it was said among the nations, the Lord has done great things for them. The Lord has done great things for us, and we rejoiced.” The choir will sing a rousing campaign song of yesteryear. Can you guess what that song title is? You might also hear for the first time another election tune. Our trumpeter, Wes Ecker, will play a tune inviting us to get up on our feet.
Though the date is not Memorial Day or July the Fourth, you are invited to wear our nation’s colors of red, white and blue or articles of clothing incorporating our flag in the design. A wooden cross will be on display in the narthex waiting for people to transform it with their gifts of flowers into a beautiful floral cross. As we have done for so many years, we will leave the sanctuary and go to the Memorial Garden for the butterfly release.
