Location: Often in the Narthex

This communion set, which was donated by Dr. and Mrs. Tom Brackett and was first used for the Lord’s Supper in Scotland in 1775.

During the season of Lent, we will be looking around the church and sharing images, photos, paintings, and other items that help us to focus more closely on God. Let us prepare our hearts to worship ….

23 For I received from the Lord what I also handed on to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took a loaf of bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body that is for[g] you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

I Corinthians 11:23-26

Prayer

Almighty God, as we begin our Lenten journey toward the cross and the empty tomb, help us to treasure in our hearts what Christ’s death as done for us.  Strengthen me in this holy meal to remember what you have done for me as I walk more closely with my Lord, in whose name I pray. Amen.
