Names of Christ: Who do you say that I am?

they will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.

Revelation 17:14

On his robe and on his thigh, he has a name inscribed, “King of kings and Lord of lords.”

Revelation 19:16

The words that accompany the inspirational music of Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus say:

The kingdom of this world
Is become the kingdom of our Lord
And of His Christ, and of His Christ
And He shall reign for ever and ever
And He shall reign for ever and ever
And He shall reign for ever and ever
For ever and ever, forever and ever

King of kings (Forever and ever Hallelujah! Hallelujah!)

And Lord of Lords (Forever and ever Hallelujah! Hallelujah!)

Jesus is the most powerful force in all the world.

When someone wishes to join a Presbyterian church – we ask –

Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior?

Do you trust in Him?

Do you intend to be His disciples, to obey His word, and to show His love?

What binds us together as the church is the power of the Lord of lords.

Prayer

God in Human Flesh, I accept all that comes to the world as Jesus reigns as Lord of lords. Let me gladly and obediently walk with my Lord each day of my life on earth and my life beyond. Amen.
