This might sound silly but as I have reflected this past week on the word Faithfulness, I was thinking of someone who had always been faithful in my life. Of course my amazing parents and grandparents have stood beside me through it all and I definitely consider them extremely faithful to me during my life, but then I started to think of my most loyal companion. My most loyal companion has been with me for 11 years now, greets me as soon as I walk in the door, sits with me in my recliner at night, and lays with me on the couch when I’m not feeling well. Oftentimes on my days off, she will follow me into the kitchen, bathroom, and anywhere else I tend to go in the house. My faithful cat Trinity is always by my side. (On a side note, she is named after Dale Earnhardt who drove the #3 racecar and of course the Holy Trinity).

When thinking about the type of Faithfulness which is described as a Fruit of the Spirit, the type of Faithfulness I want to have when pursuing Jesus and helping other people pursue Him, I can’t help but think of what a good example Trinity sets for me on a daily basis. I provide all of her needs: water, clean liter box, food, a nice place to curl up and relax, and even air conditioning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Trinity then shows her thanks to me with continuous loyalty, support, and FAITHFULNESS. She is always there, always by my side and even though she has allowed Joe “to live with us,” she is still my cat and typically you will find her snuggled up next to me. I pray that I can be more like Trinity when it comes to my relationship with our Lord and Savior. He provides all of my needs every day; He is always there for me, helping me out, answering my prayers. He has been Faithful through all of my life and I pray that I can give Him even more love, attention, glory, honor, and praise than even faithful Trinity gives me on a daily basis. As we go through our daily lives, I pray that God will help our FAITHFULNESS to shine through every single day. May we be FAITHFUL to Him in our walk with the Lord and may we show others FAITHFULNESS by the way we show love and mercy.

Prayer

Faithful God, you are always there for us, helping us along life’s paths, showing us which way to go and unfolding every new day for us. We thank you Lord. Help us to be Faithful sons and daughters of our loving Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
