As a Pastor and Christian Educator, I believe it is vitally important that children hear the Christmas story but also have access to a nativity set to handle and ‘play with.’ There is something unique about children retaining the story when they also have an opportunity to play with the story as well, so having our Veggie Tales Nativity set in the Preschool classroom is so fun. I love the cow, who is really a veggie tale character and how children can play and re-intact the story with a set that will be safe for their play. The wonder of the Christmas story accessible to children.

Psalm 147:12-20

Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion!

For he strengthens the bars of your gates; he blesses your children within you. He grants peace within your borders; he fills you with the finest of wheat. He sends out his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes.

He hurls down hail like crumbs— who can stand before his cold? He sends out his word, and melts them; he makes his wind blow, and the waters flow. He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and ordinances to Israel. He has not dealt thus with any other nation; they do not know his ordinances. Praise the Lord!

Prayer

Living God, for You nothing is impossible. Through a poor young woman in a small town, You gave birth to Your realm of endless glory. By Your Holy Spirit, fill us with new life and hope and overshadow us with Your power of grace so that, like little children who gathered at Jesus’ feet, we might be Your servants. Through Jesus Christ, may we bear witness to that promise of Your truth, Amen.
