Psalm 51:15

O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.

This hymn is a beautiful reminder that God’s word is made manifest around us every day. If we but open our eyes, ears, and mouth, we can seek to fully understand and embrace God’s holy word. We can then respond by seeking to live a life of discipleship by showing God’s love to others. I also love that there is something about quieting the noise in our lives so that we can look and listen for the Spirit to illumine our lives. I invite you to try to spend some time today in God’s word and listen for how you might share God’s love.

Prayer

Holy God, thank You for the gift of the Bible. Quiet in us any voice but Yours so that we may be open to the Holy Spirit as we seek to understand Your word and respond in action. Embolden us to show Your love to all we encounter today. Amen.
