John 3:16

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.

The Latin Cross is probably the most common symbol associated with Christianity. It represents the crucifixion of Christ and the manner in which Jesus was sacrificed for humanity, atoning for the sins of the world. Latin Cross is also seen as a common floor plan for many churches and cathedrals. Today, the Latin Cross is seen in a wide variety of places, from bumpers stickers to jewelry to the inside of church sanctuaries.

Prayer

Holy God, we thank You for the gift of Your son and Your salvific act upon the cross. Thank You for loving us and continually seeking to be in relationship with us. Empower us to respond to Your love with humility and gratitude. May we show Your grace and love to all those we encounter today and may we point to the cross as the source of our joy and salvation. Amen.
