I Corinthians 13:13

¹³ And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Many of the churches I have frequented in my life have a brass or wooden cross that almost seems to rest on a pedestal. Where other crosses can be placed on pendants and worn, these crosses are better for standing. This Three Step or Graded Cross is said to remind us of some of the most important elements of our life together in Christ: Faith, Hope, Love.

Prayer

God our Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, we turn to You in praise for Your creative, saving, and sustaining presence in our lives. And as we focus on Your gifts to us, we ask You to let faith, hope, and love show forth to the world around us in how we live and love You and others. Amen.
