TIME FOR TERMITE TENTING

Our church has been blessed with wonderful facilities to use as our base of mission and ministry. And the time has come for us to engage in a major maintenance issue at our church. Over the past few months, we have spotted evidence of termites in our 98-year-old sanctuary building. After consulting with multiple professionals, it has become clear that the only effective solution is tenting the structure. And since the main building is connected by a covered walkway to our Christian Education building (which was constructed in 1966) we have decided it could be prudent to tent and treat that building as well.

This project is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 7. Ideally, the entire process will be completed in three days. But, since weather and wind can cause delays to a perfect plan, we have made arrangements with the city to hold our 10 am worship service on Sunday, August 13 at Nora Mayo Hall at 500 3rd St NW.

Office operations and church meetings (Men’s Lunch, Personnel Committee, Buildings and Grounds) scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of that week will be moved to the Golden Center for Student Ministry at 711 Sixth Street.

Watch the Tower Chimes for reminders and updates. And you might want to drive by on August 7 or 8 to see a “once in a century tenting.”
