Youth House Improvement Project

As part of a yearlong church facilities improvement project, over thirty five youth group members, church staff, and adult volunteers attended the Dirt Pile Party. Three truckloads of top soil were spread around the newly renovated Youth House and Soup Kitchen buildings. All of the youth and adult volunteers shoveled and spread top soil for a couple of hours. We all want to thank Gannon Olmert and our friends at Tucker Construction for volunteering their Bobcat to help spread the top soil.

Three days later, on the first day of summer, Dr. Negley’s Landscaping Party began at 7:30 am. Over thirty youth group members, staff, and adult volunteers were in attendance and laid ten pallets of sod over the new top soil. Because of the intense heat of the day, the party started early and ended before 10:30 am. Youth, staff, and adults all loaded wheelbarrows with sod, pushed the wheelbarrows around, spread fertilizer, lifted squares of sod and laid them down. All were revitalized midway by a quick break of donuts and water. A lot of heavy work was performed, but the grounds now look great. Thank you youth, staff, and adult volunteers.
